If you're worried about yourself or your baby, don't wait for an email reply. Call your maternity unit. In the UK you can also call 111, or 999 in an emergency.

Email hello@nearlyhere.app with what you were doing, what you expected to happen, and which iPhone and Watch you have. I aim to reply within two working days.
Common questions
Does the Watch app need my iPhone nearby?
No. The Watch app times contractions on its own. When the two are back in range they share the log, so both show the same list.
I tapped by mistake. Can I undo it?
Yes. An Undo button appears for ten seconds after every tap. After that, open the Log tab on your iPhone to edit or delete any entry.
I forgot to tap when it started.
While a contraction is being timed, turn the Digital Crown to move its start time back, up to two minutes.
Why is one of my contractions flagged?
Anything timed at over two minutes is flagged, because it usually means a missed Stop tap. You can fix the length, keep it as it is, or call your unit.
Does the app tell me when to go to hospital?
No. It counts and averages what you record. If you set a reminder, it tells you when the pattern you chose has been reached. Your midwife or unit makes the call about when to come in.
Where is my data kept?
Your timings and log stay on your iPhone and Watch, with no account. If you use family links, updates pass through our server end-to-end encrypted, so we can't read them. The privacy policy has the detail.
How do family updates work?
In the Family tab, open Your circle and make an invite code. Family install Nearly Here, choose "Following someone's labour" and enter it. You let each person in. Then a milestone like "Heading in" reaches them all as a notification with one tap, from your phone or Watch. A birth partner also gets the live contraction timer on their Lock Screen.
Can I write my own updates?
Yes. In Send an update, tap "Add your own message", give it a name, write the message and choose an icon. It's saved, so next time it's one tap, on your iPhone or Watch. Swipe one to edit or delete it.
How do reactions work?
Family can press and hold an update's notification and choose "Sending love", "You've got this" or "Thinking of you" ("Congratulations!" once the baby's here). They can also react under each update in the app. You won't get a notification for every reaction: every so often a quiet "6 people sent love" waits for you, and the Family tab shows who sent what.
Can I send a photo?
With the unlock, yes. In Send an update, tap "Add a photo", then choose the update to send it with. It shows in everyone's notification. It's encrypted on your phone, and deleted from our server after a week. Family keep their own copy in the app, and can save it to their Photos.
Can family on Android follow?
Not yet. Nearly Here is on iPhone and Apple Watch for now.
What's free?
The timer, breathing guide, when-to-call advice, reactions, your own messages and your birth partner following live are all free. Following someone else's labour is always free. A one-off unlock of £9.99 (no subscription, shared through Family Sharing) adds the rest of your family to your circle, photos with your news, the Apple Watch app and log export.
Can my birth partner send updates?
Yes. Your birth partner can send milestones like "Heading in" or "Baby's here!" to everyone for you. They show as "From" your partner.
How do I share the log with my midwife?
On the Pattern tab, share the summary as text or export the full log as a CSV file.
